• Residencies will begin in December at Lynch Wood Elementary in the Centennial District and Willamette Primary in the West Linn/Wilsonville District.

• Any teacher who has ever gone through the COW (1998-2005) program can enter of this year’s student work to be considered for a published anthology of COW students’ work. Inkwater Press, a local publisher, will print and distribute the book in 2006. Entries for this book can be non-fiction, fiction or poetry. Deadline for submission is February 1, 2006. • The Portland Public School District awarded Community of Writers with its prestigious Spirit of PPS Award for 2005.
