Mamula, Patty

Project #1: Class Newspaper
Student reporters plan and create their own class newspaper. They will write news stories and practice interviewing, fact finding, writing headlines, organizing information and listening for direct quotes. Writing for publication engages students in the challenge of how to "talk" to their readers. Note: the school may be responsible for a portion of the printing costs for this project. This residency works best with at least 75 minutes per day ( as opposed to the average 50-60).

Project #2: Radio News Program
Students create and produce a program for radio broadcast, including story selection, reporting, writing, and "on air" presentation.

Project #3: Student Profiles
Students will interview fellow classmates and write in-depth feature profiles for possible publication in a class newsletter.
