Project: Emotion-n-Motion
This class teaches students how to blend movement and words. Students
will start each session with a five-minute stretch, using movement to
inspire voice, a technique that Laure learned as a fitness instructor and
a graduate of the Sanford Meisner acting school in New York City.
Putting movement to selected words, students will develop a short story,
learning techniques of plot, character, and setting, finishing the week
with a story created from movement and emotion.
Laure Redmond is a self-esteem
coach and mind-body specialist who has worked with many Hollywood
celebrities. She is the author of Feel Good Naked (2001, Fair Winds) and
has appeared in two feature articles in O, The Oprah magazine. Laure is a
popular and well-respected spokesperson and appears the first Friday of
every month on KATU'S AM Northwest with her inspirational wellness segment
entitled, Feel Good Friday. Laure maintains a private practice, where she
leads individuals and small groups towards a happier, more self-improved
life. She is also the founder of Self-Esteem Saves You, a program designed
to empower young girls and teens. She is currently working on her second
book, Feel Good Fifty.
