Rosenberg, Gigi
Project #1: Stories into Books
Students create character, setting and plot, and sew their short stories
into a unique, illustrated, handmade book.
Project #2: He Said/She Said
Words come to life as students explore the art of monologue and dialogue,
and learn how to invent characters and scenes with words, movement and
voice.
About
Gigi:
Gigi Rosenberg is an essayist, monologist and visual artist. She
loves teaching writing in tandem with bookmaking because making books
captivates different kinds of learners: the artists engage by designing
the cover, the doodlers engage by illustrating and the kinesthetic
learners engage by actually sewing, with their own hands, the book that
will contain their story.
She has taught at Saturday Academy, The Haven Project and the NW Writing
Institute. Her articles have been published in The Oregonian, Jewish
Review, Kids Vermont and Cycle California! Magazine. Her radio
commentary “The Hanukkah Bush” was featured on Oregon Public
Broadcasting and she has performed her dramatic monologues in Portland and
Seattle. For more information, visit www.gigirosenberg.com
