Choosing Punctuation

A way to practice conventions other than one sentence at a time, such as Daily Oral Language.

Give each child at a table group a copy of a short story without any punctuation marks. The children then individually correct the story to the best of their ability, and share what they found with the group. The group then discusses everything that was found, arrives at what it feels are the best choices, and makes one final corrected copy.

This gives practice for looking at other students' papers when peer editing.
