DescriptionsI take pictures throughout the year and, once in a while, give kids a chance to take Polaroid pictures. When I want to do this lesson, I put individual pictures in folders (folded construction paper) and pass out a picture to each child. I ask them to write a description of what is happening in their picture without naming the people in it, and to put their name on the folder. I put the pictures up on the bulletin board with a number by each one. The students read their description to partners. Using the form below, the partners write the name of the student reading the description and their best guess as to which picture is being described. Listener's Name __________________ Writer's Name Picture Number __________ ___________ __________ ___________ __________ ___________ __________ ___________ __________ ___________ After I let them know how they did, I make a class book out of the pictures and their descriptions. |
